- Q: What is it?
- A: EXECUTE: Whatever It Takes is a short story I wrote. I have been talking about my Sci-Fi world for a while, so this is a little snippet of the stories that happen in this city. I thought it could provide some intrigue and give me a chance to return to short stories. A medium of prose I have always held a soft spot for.
- Q: Do I need to read your book to understand the story?
- A: No. The corporation explored is not one I particularly focus on in my books, but is mentioned from time to time. The character Erin Bryson, along with those who surround her are all unique to this story. Only one character appears in both, and you don’t need to know him to understand. I purposely wrote this story as a jumping-off point that will expand the world, rather than being a required stepping stone. This being said, if you ever gain the chance to read Nebula: Revival it will enhance aspects of this story. Yes, I’m leaving it as that. Mysterious and all that.
- Q: How can I gain access to the story?
- A: Easy! All you need is a valid e-mail address and a willingness to sign up for my free monthly newsletter. I give out updates, some titbits and book and music recs. I have also added a new section where I show what game I have been playing lately.
- Q: How much is the short story?
- A: Free! Yes, absolutely free. Both my newsletter and the short story are free to access.
- Q: What is it about?
- A: It is a taste of Nebula City. A dark, corporate tale about Erin Bryson, who is a dedicated employee of a huge technological corporation. Seriously, her dedication is somewhat worrisome. It is heavy on the satire. Unlike Nebula: Revival, you’ll find no punks in here, sorry! It is sapphic if that makes up for it, maybe?
- Erin Bryson is so close to her next big promotion when sickness threatens to stand in her way, but she is willing to do whatever it takes to prove she is worthy.
- Q: Why am I being asked for a password? What is the password?
- A: The password is available through my newsletter which is emailed out every month. The sign up form can be found below and the password will be available in the welcome message.
- Q: Trigger warnings?
- A: I do give these out at the start of the story in a meta way. Some warnings I would give are strong language, thoughts of harm, murder, violence and descriptions of gore.
If this sounds like something you would enjoy or if you’re keen to join my newsletter subscribers, I would love it if you signed up! It genuinely means the world to me. I get a little giddy every time someone signs up.
